The Moravian Legacy

"The group of Christians known as the Moravians is relatively small in numbers when compared to larger denominations. However, they have had a tremendous impact on modern Christianity well beyond their actual size. They were a persecuted people for many years but their history reached a dramatic turning point at a revival in 1727 in the community of Herrnhut, under the direction of Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf. An explosion of prayer and piety birthed a launch into foreign missions way ahead of its time. Innovations and ideas from the Moravians and their missions effort had profound impacts on future Protestentism especially through the lives of William Carey and John Wesley."
